August 22 @ 7:30 am - 8:30 am| $30
Alan Costello is our PatChats guest for August talking on risktaking.
Life is inherently risky yet so much of our energy is consumed creating security.
I’m excited to hear Alan’s approach to risktaking.
Alan, a Mayo native has been living with his wife Karen in Sydney for 7 years now.
In a previous life Alan represented both Mayo and Sligo at All levels of Intercounty football before taking a look at life Down Under and has not looked back up to the Northern Hemisphere since.
While in Ireland he was Vice President at Sligo IT where he graduated with an Honours degree in Business.
Since his arrival in Sydney he has worked at Setanta Sports and eBay.
Upon arrival in Sydney Alan joined Young Ireland’s GAA where he played on the men’s senior team while they won two league titles and captained the winning Melbourne 7ns competition. He was Chairman for a year.
In 2015 Alan joined a small start up named Afterpay as one of its earliest employees (#3). It’s grown up since to the among the ASX 100 businesses with a presence in ANZ, UK, USA. Come and listen to Alan and hear more and what’s next.
I’m excited to hear how you go from employee #3 to be among the top ASX 100 businesses in less than 4 years. Their 2018 annual report shows a growth from $29 million to $143 million.
We’re back to talking over breakfast. See you at 07:15 for a 07:30 start.
